among billionaires today - so why not join the trend with this cut-price  hideaway.

Originally built for a staggering $34 million, the underground shelter has hit the market for just $2 million, and comes with an array of amenities to add a taste of luxury to the apocalypse.

While the outside looks like little more than a large shed, down a spiral shaft the new residents will find a 10,000-square-foot modern space including a gym, recording studio, theater room and glass blowing alley.

City.

While it may not look like much from the outside, this $2 million Missouri property is home to a sprawling underground complex

The bunker below the 10 acres of space covers an impressive 10,000 square feet

Its new owners can ride out the end of days with an array of amenities, including a music studio (pictured) and home gym

The property comes with two bathrooms and a number of bedroom arrangement options to cater to any doomsday-fearing family

The bunker was originally constructed in the 1960s for $4.5 million, equivalent to $34 million today, primarily to protect against catastrophic attacks.

With safety as its main selling point, the shelter features hefty 2.5-goot thick concrete walls, copper shielding to stop electromagnetic pulses, and two titanic 3000lb blast doors.

And that's not to mention the layers of earth separating the property from the outside world.

But while survival is the main reason for buying a multi-million-dollar property under the ground, inside the home has more than enough to keep its new residents entertained.

Spanning two levels, the bolt hole comes with two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, large living room and several bedroom arrangements that allow the owner to fit the needs of their family.

Amenities include a home gym, soundproof music studio with recording equipment, entertainment room with a theater and pool table, and recreation area.

The home also comes with its own glass blowing studio, for any doomsday preppers looking for a new hobby.

The location - under 10 acres of vacant land - also offers the possibility for a wealthy buyer to build their dream home on top, and keep the bunker as a backup

If the worst should happen, the new owners of the home will surely count themselves lucky thanks to the bunker's self-sufficiency capabilities.

The property has its own private water well, water pump, a mammoth 10,000-gallon stainless steel water tank, and Aquasana Water Filtration System.

A towering 177-ft communication tower and an emergency escape hatch are also options for the end times.

Those taking that route would be following the latest trend of the uber-wealthy to build their own doomsday bunkers, with notable recent shelters bought by Peter Thiel and .

Thiel turned to New Zealand as the site for his doomsday bunker, with his PayPal co-founder, Reid Hoffman, once telling The New Yorker that among the world's wealthiest New Zealand is quietly understood to be the place to hunker down in the event of calamity.

'Saying you're ''buying a house in New Zealand'' is kind of a ''wink, wink, say no more'',' Hoffman said.

Although Thiel's plans for a sprawling underground complex were rejected last year, he clearly retains hopes as he holds a New Zealand residency.

Rod Drury, the chief executive of the Thiel-backed New Zealand accounting software company Xero, the said American billionaires 'treat New Zealand as a bit of a bolt-hole'.

“I was so confused and insecure. Because I thought I was beautiful. So many people told me I was beautiful. Who am I? I feel like a vase shattered across the ground, and left there in the alleyway. A chandelier that was cut from the ceiling, and then all the people left the house. I can’t imagine on this day, what it would feel like to recover. Am I allowed to be this sad? Am I allowed to lay on the ground in a heap and wail? I want to have hands again, and legs. I want to smile. I want to believe that I can. But again, I want to be sad for the rest of time. I want to wear my sadness in long strands. I want to lay on the ocean floor and weep stalactites. For a hundred years. A tree has fallen onto my chest. The sky is spinning, and it won’t slow down. I don’t want to feel any of this.” A excerpt of an untitled essay from NIGHTBIRDE The NIGHTBIRDE book “Poems for the dark” should be available for presale soon.
