a source explained that Ben and John have a cordial relationship, which makes co-parenting Ben and Jen’s three children easier for the exes.
“Ben is super down-to-earth, and so is John,” the insider explained. “They have a mutual respect for each other and are always very friendly with one another.”
Though Jen and John have been dating for years, they’re been notoriously private about their relationship, though the couple have been spotted more publicly in recent months, amid reports Lopez and Affleck are struggling.
“Jen and John are in a great place,” the insider went on. “They used to go out of their way to keep a low profile, but they’ve both become very secure with their relationship and how it’s all worked out.”
The source added that Jen and John are open to tying the knot in the future. “Jen and John want to take their time to plan out the specifics as far as the type of ceremony they want, where to live and whether or not they’ll need a prenup,” they continued. “All that will come, but on their own timetable.”
While Jen and John’s relationship may be going well, the same can’t be said for her ex-husband’s current marriage. Divorce rumors have been following Lopez and Affleck for months. Earlier this year, one report claimed J.Lo asked for a post-nuptial agreement as she feared their marriage wouldn’t survive.
