Do you feel more comfortable hanging out with cats than other people? You are not alone, and now there is also a word that describes exactly what you are feeling.
In a post shared on in December under the username @nellythetinycat, a came up with a new word that describes exactly the feeling of preferring animals to humans.
In the can be seen snuggling and exchanging kisses while isolated from the rest of the world. A caption shared along with the clip reads: "Felintrovert: a person who prefers the company of cats over humans."
We all love our cats to the moon and back, but do our pets feel the same way about us? The answer is yes.
It turns out that domesticated cats can form to their owners and display their emotions in ways similar to humans.
Cats are able to detect their owner's sadness and console them, even licking their tears away; and when they really love their owners, they will also try to protect them from hazards.
Examples of are headbutting and rubbing the sides of their face against you. They'll also try rubbing up against your ankles; jumping up on counters or furniture to get closer to you; kneading, purring, meowing, chirping, curling up in your lap, grooming or licking you; and simply acting excited to see you.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across Instagram. It has so far received over 433,000 likes on the platform.
One user, tutty_cat, commented: "OMG {Oh my god] you are so right!!" And josiahbrenner03 posted: "Ok, but what do you call the same thing but with dogs, and prefers being out in the middle of nowhere?" User amandakitchen1981 added: "I love this man for loving this cat."
