Coronation Street fans have been given a glimpse as a passionate moment to come between Tommy Orpington and Tracy Barlow as the pair embark on an affair.

Tommy, played by Matt Milburn, returned to Weatherfield last month on Day when he was served by Tracy (Kate Ford) in the flower shop when he was looking for a last minute gift.

This week, Corrie viewers will see Tracy enlist the help of newly retired footballer Tommy to spruce up her home.

With Tracy's lazy husband Steve () fails to get the decorating done, Tommy takes up the job. 

However, it quickly becomes clear his mind isn’t just on the work as the sexual chemistry between Tracy and Tommy leaves her hot under the collar.

This week, Corrie viewers will see Tracy enlist the help of newly retired footballer Tommy to spruce up her home - but things soon take a passionate turn

As Tommy admits he fancies Tracy and leans in for a kiss, the moment sees them embark on a steamy affair.

Reprising his role as ex Weathy County striker Tommy, Matt Milburn said: 'I was absolutely thrilled and over the moon, because it’s something I’ve wanted for years. 

'I’ve played Tommy intermittently since 2016 so to be told that I was going to be coming back and given something far more substantial, I was delighted. 

'Tommy is the perfect character for me to play because I love football and he’s a famous northern footballer. It’s great to be back!'

On Tommy’s instant attraction to Tracy, Matt explained: 'I think he likes her sparky nature, her quick retorts and her banter is very sharp. He likes being kept on his toes.

'She’s not an easy target in many ways. I just think that they seem to have this chemistry between them that none of them see coming.'

After Tommy was last seen in Corrie in 2016, producer Iain MacLeod told last year: 'A story evolves where this attractive, historically successful man arrives into one of our female character's lives and upsets the apple cart in fairly spectacular fashion.

"It's very funny. It's potentially quite sad in certain places. It triggers something really big for us over the next 12 months, a big new direction for some characters — so yeah, Tommy Orpington will finally be coming off the subs' bench.

Steve McDonald was chatting to Daisy Midgeley () in the Rovers Return when she asked him what he missed most about owning the iconic pub.

As he joked the thing he missed most was 'beer on tap,' talk then turned to his four ex-wives.

Steve is currently married to Tracy - they previously tied the knot in 2012 before getting divorced and married again in 2018.

He first married Vicky McDonald (Chloe Newsome) in 1995, before walking down the aisle with Karen Phillips () in 2001.

Steve then wed Becky Granger () in 2009, before he married Michelle Connor () in 2015.

Daisy asked Steve in the pub an episode earlier this month: 'Who was your least favourite punter?' as he responded: 'Tracy.'

Steve and Karen tied the knot in 2001, before Suranne Jones ended up leaving the beloved soap after four years in 2004

She then quizzed: 'Which of your four ex wives do you miss the most?' 

He immediately replied: 'Karen, next question.'

Daisy continued: 'If you could go back in time and marry only one of them, who would you choose?' as Steve failed to respond before she got distracted.

Steve's mention of Karen was enough to get fans excited about a potential return, despite him just mentioning her name.

One person posted: 'Coronation street... Karen macdonald.... So tonight... Steve admits that karen was his favourite wife.

.. Is this a sign.. Is karen aka suranne Jones coming back [sic]'

Another pointed out: 'The wife Steve Macdonald would remarry, Karen #Corrie.'

A third insisted: 'Karen mcdonald mention. Steve loved her. #Corrie'

Suranne left Corrie in 2004 after four years on the soap.

She's gone on to have an incredible career in TV, starring in shows such as Doctor Foster, The Secret Of Crickley Hall, Unforgiven, Maryland and more.

Suranne most recently starred in the second series of BBC drama Vigil alongside Game Of Thrones actress Rose Leslie.
