Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan, recently shared an update from the set of ‘Blue Bloods,’ which has just begun filming its 14th season.

The cast of Blue Bloods has returned to work. Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan on CBS, recently shared an update from the set of the show, which is in its 14th and final season.

Donnie Wahlberg returns to ‘Blue Bloods’ production.

In a normal year, Wahlberg and the rest of the Blue Bloods cast would have begun filming new episodes months ago. Season 14 production was hampered by lengthy writer and actor strikes.

The stars are now working on the final 18 episodes after the labor disputes have been resolved.

With a brief update from the set on Nov. 27, Wahlberg confirmed production had begun.

Monday greetings! Reagan and Baez are back on set! “Let’s go,” Wahlberg captioned a short Instagram video of himself and Marisa Ramirez. Despite his excitement, getting back into Detective Danny Reagan’s character after an extended break was difficult.

He worked on reacquainting himself with the role in a behind-the-scenes video on his Instagram story, joking, “When I’ve been away from set so long that I forgot how to Danny Reagan.”

Season 14 of ‘Blue Bloods’ is the final season.

CBS has confirmed that Blue Bloods Season 14, the show’s final season, will end in 2024 after nearly 300 episodes.

The last season is divided into two parts: Part 1 of 10 episodes will air on CBS and Paramount+ on Friday, February 16 at 10 p.m. ET. Part 2 will air in the fall of 2024, with eight episodes.

“After 13 incredible years, it’s been an honor to work on a show that celebrates NYC’s protectors and emphasizes family,” Tom Selleck said in a statement regarding the show’s cancellation. He thanked the cast, crew, CBS Studios, and CBS Network for their unwavering support, as well as the fans who joined them every Friday night for over 275 episodes.

Despite being one of CBS’s highest-rated scripted series, Blue Bloods was renewed for Season 14 after Tom Selleck and the cast agreed to a pay cut. To cut costs, CBS requested a 25% salary cut for the main actors and producers. The agreement aimed to protect the jobs of the many other people who worked on the show.

“I was so confused and insecure. Because I thought I was beautiful. So many people told me I was beautiful. Who am I? I feel like a vase shattered across the ground, and left there in the alleyway. A chandelier that was cut from the ceiling, and then all the people left the house. I can’t imagine on this day, what it would feel like to recover. Am I allowed to be this sad? Am I allowed to lay on the ground in a heap and wail? I want to have hands again, and legs. I want to smile. I want to believe that I can. But again, I want to be sad for the rest of time. I want to wear my sadness in long strands. I want to lay on the ocean floor and weep stalactites. For a hundred years. A tree has fallen onto my chest. The sky is spinning, and it won’t slow down. I don’t want to feel any of this.” A excerpt of an untitled essay from NIGHTBIRDE The NIGHTBIRDE book “Poems for the dark” should be available for presale soon.
