The 41-year-old 7th Heaven shared a brace of videos on Tuesday, letting her fans in on her eminently relatable circumstances.

Luckily, she came prepared with a way to occupy her time - a selection of her 'favorite snacks' including a clementine and pistachios. 

Although she neglected to pack a lunch, she had her nibbles on hand, and a brainwave had prompted her to bring 'triple of each' of them.

She also playfully retrieved a mini karaoke machine, joking: 'What do you think? How much would this plane literally want to kill me if I pulled out this microphone to start karaoke with them? Should I try it?'

As the day wore on, Jessica shared another update, revealing that she had been diverted to Salt Lake City International Airport.

'Well, this epic journey continues,' she said. 'We're now sitting in an outpost of the Salt Lake City airport, not allowed to get off, trying to refuel and actually get back up in the air, and now I'm really pissed I didn't bring a lunch.

'

Jessica reflected: 'So I think the moral of the story is: it literally doesn't matter if you're flying for 20 minutes or 20 hours. Pack your own damn lunch.' 

Incidentally, her first video was a 'shoutout to' Mindy Kaling, who once recounted a story of being on a flight with Jessica where the latter had brought a 'plane salad.'

Mindy wrote on Instagram: 'I remembered this one time, maybe like 14 years ago, when I sat next to @jessicabiel on a flight.'

She recalled that an 'hour in, she pulled out this container from her tote bag. It had the most delicious looking homemade salad in it that was definitely a better option than whatever I was eating.

I always wanted to ask her what the recipe was!'
