Reba’s upcoming performance will mark a significant milestone, completing a full-circle moment that began 50 years ago at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma. It was there that she was discovered while singing the national anthem. This moment marked the start of her iconic career in country music.
“I’m honored to be part of something as big and historic as the Super Bowl coming to Las Vegas for the first time,” Reba shared in a statement. “2024 marks 50 years since I was discovered singing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate that anniversary.

McEntire is one of several country stars who have had the opportunity to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the big game. Chris Stapleton in 2023, bringing viewers to tears with a rendition that is regarded by many as one of the greatest national anthem performances of all time.
Mickey Guyton performed the national anthem in 2022, Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan in 2021, and Luke Bryan took to the Super Bowl field to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 2017. Before that, country artists who performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl include Carrie Underwood (2010), The Chicks (previously known as the Dixie Chicks) (2003), Faith Hill (2000), Garth Brooks (1993), and Charley Pride (1974).
McEntire’s performance will take place at Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday, Feb. 11. It will air on CBS. In addition to Reba, the pre-game lineup for the Super Bowl features performances by Post Malone and Andra Day. Usher is set to take the stage during the halftime show.
