Former students at an elite private school once attended by Kanye West's wife  have alleged they were sexually abused by teachers decades ago.

The allegations were made by three former students who attended the Carey Baptist Grammar School in , with the alleged abuse to have occurred between the 70s and 90s.

The claims were made against three male teachers and their alleged offending relates to two girls and one boy.

Carey Baptist Grammar School, which charges fees of up to $37,976 a year, was attended by West's Australian wife MsCensori from 2000 to 2012.

There is no suggestion Ms Censori is among the alleged victims.

Law firm Judy Courtin Legal is set to file proceedings over the allegations after advertising for witnesses to come forward.

'We have had quite a response already. At least six people have contacted us already today,' head of the law firm, Judy Courtin told .

The firm's advertisement read: 'We would like to speak to anyone who has information or recollections about male teachers alleged to have groomed and sexually abused student(s) at Carey Baptist Grammar School during the late 1980's'.

Carey Baptist Grammar is a co-education college attended by primary and high school students and has two campuses in Kew, near Melbourne's CBD, and Donvale in the city's north-east. 

The school's website states that the college has a 'zero tolerance' to child abuse.

'Carey is committed to providing a child safe environment, acting in the best interests of children and their wellbeing at all times,' their website states.  

The school's principal Johnathan Walter sent out a letter to former students on Friday saying the college has not been made aware of the allegations but asked alumni to come forward if they had been 'subjected to sexual abuse' at the school.

'The School is not aware of the basis of these claims and have not been contacted by these former students,' Mr Walter said.

He added that the college has strict measures in place to ensure students are kept safe and rigorous standards are applied before staff are hired at the school.

The prestigious college is one of Victoria's most expensive schools with parents forking out almost $38,000 a year in school fees for Year 11-12 students.
