Deborra-Lee Furness to promote her new film Force of Nature: The Dry 2 in on Tuesday.

The role marks a career comeback for the veteran actress, 68, who last September.

Unfortunately, Furness was caught in an incredibly awkward moment while conducting a live interview with The Project at the premiere.

As Furness and co-star Jacqueline McKenzie chatted to The Project's via a live feed, they were joined by an unexpected guest.

Actress Sisi Stringer, who also appears in the film, crashed the interview to greet a stunned Deborra-Lee.

'Hi!' exclaimed Deborra-Lee, as Sisi awkwardly attempted to rest her head on the star's shoulder.

Seemingly mortified, Sisi quickly apologised when she realised that Deborra-Lee was in the middle of a live interview before rushing off.

Back in the Channel 10 studio, host Waleed joked, 'No, you guys just catch up!'

Walking the red carpet at the premiere, the 68-year-old looked every inch the major movie star in a figure-hugging black gown with stylish square shoulder pads.

Her short blonde hair was styled in a trendy pixie cut and her lips were painted an alluring shade of pink.

She kept the entire look simple and elegant, but added some diamond and ruby earrings for a splash of luxury.

Deborra-Lee and Wolverine star Hugh ended their 27-year marriage last year, with the former couple announcing their shock split in September.  

Delivering the news with a united front, they told their fans they separated 'to pursue our individual growth'.

'We have been blessed to share almost three decades together in a wonderful, loving marriage,' the couple said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

'

The pair tied the knot in 1996 after crossing paths on the set of Correlli in 1995, and share two adopted children: son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18.
