The baker and pub landlady, 39, took to social media on Tuesday to share a picture of the plate which had been shattered into numerous pieces.

Television personality Candice said something had fallen down her chimney and smashed the dish, leaving her distraught.

She wrote on Twtter: 'Anyone know where I can get a new one of these??? F**k. (Something fell down the chimney hit it and it smashed.) I’m devastated #breakoff.'

While many of her followers said she should call up Bake Off bosses and request a new one, and others insisted

Candice later took to her Instagram Stories to issue an update.

Sharing a photo of the smashed cake stand again, she wrote: 'It's still broken, I'm still gutted. The chimney is a p**ck.

'I've had a few suggestions and some advise. Some great, some not massively helpful but I don't think I'll be going back on @britishbakeoff to win another - I'd get my a**e handed to me now.

'One of the suggestions that kept cropping up was [Japanese art of repairing broken pottery] kintsugi.

Do you have to do it yourself or are there experts that I would send it to?

'A normal repair you would still see the break so why not make the break beautiful?

'Also feel weird about a new one - it wouldn't be mine - does that make me weird?

'A lot of people mentioning @therepairshoptv too - now what a crossover that would be!!!

'All jokes aside, I'm actually very sad about this - feels proper s**t. I worked so hard for this and it really is a reminder that I can be good enough so of course I broke it.'

It comes after as they addended the European premiere of Cirque du Soleil's Alegria: In A New Light at the Royal Albert Hall in London last Wednesday.

She looked chic in an oversized grey jumper arm-in-arm with partner Nicky.

Candice completed her look by wearing a pair of black tights and matching platform heels.

Nicky wrapped up warm in a brown coat and black scarf while he wore a pair of jeans in the same colour.

The relationship became public knowledge just months after she opened up about having had 'the worst year of her life,' following the breakdown of her marriage.

She told the told  podcast: 'I had a very difficult year last year — the hardest of my life.

The famous baker first met ex-husband Liam Macauley in the bar where he worked while studying for a degree, back in 2012.

After five years of dating, the couple announced their engagement in October 2017, just over a year after she first appeared on Bake Off.

Candice exchanged vows with her longtime love at Château de Varennes in Burgundy, France, in September 2018.

Candice revealed the happy news on Twitter, simply writing: 'Got married, didn't we?'

She later wrote: 'The congratulations & love we have received is incredible! Thank you so much for all your kind words!

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Candice said of their relationship: 'We have always said we work better together than we do apart. Being able to say we are now husband and wife is such a lovely thing.'

The TV star revealed Liam popped the question where they shared their first date in Bedfordshire.

She told at the time: 'I get emotional. Because it's been such an amazing year. I feel very lucky. I've had such incredible opportunities – GBBO opened so many doors – and to top it off he puts a ring on it.

He reached into the glove compartment, got out the ring, got down on one knee and said, 'I love you, you are my world. Will you marry me?'

Liam continued: 'So I proposed in a car park. But it really meant something to us. Candice just cried for five minutes before she could say, "Yes!"'

Following her 2016 Bake Off victory, Candice and Liam sparked engagement rumours when she wore a show-stopping ring to the National Television Awards.
