showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff recently talked about the much rumored Jon Snow sequel series. They explained the importance of casting, and the possibility of coming back to the world of Westeros for further spinoffs of the hugely successful franchise.
In an interview with , the creators talked about their latest series, . The upcoming sci-fi drama is being made in collaboration with Netflix, and stars Eliza Gonzalez, John Bradley, Sea Shimooka, Benedict Wong, and Liam Cunningham; Bradley and Cunningham . Weiss and Benioff also spoke about the Jon Snow-centered project that HBO was – and may still be – producing.

Weiss and Benioff did not sign onto the project, as they felt that after the Season 8 series finale, "It was really important to move on and put Westeros behind us

When asked about their potential involvement in , down the line and after is done, the creators were hesitant. "It would be so great; nothing would make us happier than to work with our people from that show," Weiss said. "But there are a lot of other ways to make that happen that are fresh and exciting for everyone involved. Also, unless [Kit Harington] has been doing a lot of working out, that’s a really heavy cloak for a guy in his 40s to carry around — it’s like 60 pounds."
