Per , the two recently addressed how they largely avoid reflecting on the series, declining to offer any of their own criticism out of respect for everyone who worked on the show. However, they did admit to one mistake, as they explained how they shouldn't have totally forgotten about one key character from the first season.

Revealing how they now even have a scene in mind that would've been perfect for Mord's return, Benioff continued, "And we had the scene for it.
There’s a scene set in a tavern…” Weiss added, “Was it or The Hound? But we realized too late that Mord could have owned the tavern. We could have had that actor in the background acting exactly the way he did as a jailer, except now as a small business owner. It was just such an obvious, no-brainer, day-after idea.”

"You always hope everyone’s going to love anything you do and it would’ve been great if 100 percent of people loved it, but they didn’t," he said. "You can get so bogged down in public opinion that you spend your whole life googling things and trying to find people who felt one way or the other way.”
