Tributes have flowed for a popular guitarist who died in his sleep just hours after playing a gig.
Musician Benaiah Fiu, from the , founded several rock bands before he was found dead by his mother last Saturday morning.
The 32-year-old's band Strange Motel had played a show at Mo's Desert Clubhouse near Burleigh Heads on the Friday night before.
A cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Mr Fiu's death has left many of his fellow musicians shattered. He had formed rock groups Sex Drive, Strange Motel, Fiction Control and Paper.
Fiction Control uploaded a post to Instagram on Friday paying tribute to their fellow band member.
'Until we meet again. Rest easy brother,' they wrote.

Mr Fiu's heartbroken sisters Ngahuia and Hanisi also paid tribute to the 32-year-old.
'On Saturday, January 13, we said goodbye to my baby brother Benaiah,' Ngahuai said.
'I'm in so much pain, our family is hurting. He loved so deeply.
'He had this magical thing where he could create a totally unique, individual and deep relationship with anyone who could get on his frequency level.'
Hanisi said while the 'tears are constant', there was a lot of love for Mr Fiu and the life he lived.

Mr Fiu's family have arranged for an open viewing, a funeral service and a paddle out to honour his life.
The open viewing will be held in Carrara on Monday with the funeral to be at Newlife Church in Robina later that day.
The paddle out, in honour of Mr Fiu's 'love for the ocean', is set to be held on January 25.
