City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney will miss his team's AFC Divisional round game against the with hip and ankle injuries.

The anticipated collision between the teams that will be the final of this weekend's four postseason games will force the Chiefs to win on the road with an already-thin wide-receiving corps.

Toney played a major role in the Bills victory over the Chiefs on December 10, when he lined up offsides on what would have been the go-ahead touchdown with under two minutes to go.

That play featured a catch and lateral to Toney, which led to the sideline and postgame press conference tirade from

The win proved critical in Buffalo earning the No 2 seed and having multiple home postseason games.

Toney was a central figure in the December regular-season clash between the Chiefs and Bills

Toney's last appearance for the Chiefs was in Week 15 against the Patriots, where the Florida alumnus also came under fire for dropping what looked like an easy catch that was intercepted by New England.

Buffalo-Kansas City will write another chapter between arguably the most consistent pair of AFC teams over the last several years.

The game at Highmark Stadium will be two seasons after their epic overtime clash that prompted the NFL to change its overtime rules in Jan. 2022.

Kansas City and Buffalo scored 25 combined points and had four lead changes in the final two minutes of regulation, leading to overtime.

The Chiefs won the coin toss and promptly scored the game-winning touchdown, thereby denying the Bills the ball in the extra frame.

Now, both teams must get an offensive possession in overtime at the end of an NFL postseason game.

The Bills have won the last two meetings between the teams, while Kansas City has not beaten Buffalo in regulation in the last four meetings.

Oddly enough, the last five meetings between the teams have all taken place at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs have not played in Buffalo since 2020.

“I was so confused and insecure. Because I thought I was beautiful. So many people told me I was beautiful. Who am I? I feel like a vase shattered across the ground, and left there in the alleyway. A chandelier that was cut from the ceiling, and then all the people left the house. I can’t imagine on this day, what it would feel like to recover. Am I allowed to be this sad? Am I allowed to lay on the ground in a heap and wail? I want to have hands again, and legs. I want to smile. I want to believe that I can. But again, I want to be sad for the rest of time. I want to wear my sadness in long strands. I want to lay on the ocean floor and weep stalactites. For a hundred years. A tree has fallen onto my chest. The sky is spinning, and it won’t slow down. I don’t want to feel any of this.” A excerpt of an untitled essay from NIGHTBIRDE The NIGHTBIRDE book “Poems for the dark” should be available for presale soon.
