Though a brain tumor claimed Oscar’s life in 2019, his memory is still being kept alive on thanks to the meadow named after him. In the real world, actor Garren Stitt is busy remembering — and celebrating — a major milestone.
That’s because he was born on January 21, 2003, in Alexandria, Virginia, which means that this talented young thespian turns 21 years old today! After becoming enamored with the performing arts at a young age, landed his first acting role — on the series — in 2011.

Between 2014 and 2016, Stitt guest-starred on and and had a recurring role on the Nickelodeon sitcom In 2017, he joined the cast of two television series: Disney’s and ABC’s . In the former he was Marty and in the latter he was a recast, having replaced incumbent Rio Mangini.
For his role as Oscar, Stitt was nominated for the Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series award at the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards — the same year that he vacated the role following Oscar’s brain tumor-related passing.
Outside of his acting, Stitt is a musician and a singer/songwriter.
Among his RnB singles are the tunes “Clout,” “Steaks,” “My Chain,” and “Player One” — all released under the name Garren Lake. In 2019, he released an EP entitled “Heartbreak Lake.”
