Brian Austin Green says there are some bumps in his marital road with , but nothing the two can't withstand.

The 43-year-old actor, chatting with media at Wednesday's Women’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, said that the two have incredible chemistry that's helped their relationship span more than 13 years, nearly seven as husband and wife.

'I’ve dated people before and you kind of get to that point where you go, "You know what, I don’t feel the same way" - and I’ve never reached that with her,' said the actor,  according to , who played David Silver on Beverly Hills, 90210 throughout the 90s.

Asked about the secrets to his happy marriage, Green pointed to persistence, communication and understanding of one another.

'I don’t know what the secret is,' he said. 'Just stick it out. Like fighting and making up, believing in each other. I mean we fight, we disagree on things.

'But I don’t want to go anywhere and she doesn’t, you know? So we stick it out.'

The two were separated two years ago, but ultimately reconciled within a year's time.

Green, who's been seen on shows including Anger Management and Desperate Housewives, praised his stunning spouse, 31, for her outspoken nature, calling her 'opinionated and badass.'

He said: 'I think what makes her great is she says what she means, she’s not afraid of anyone .

.. she sticks to what she thinks.'

Green said that he and Fox have been focused on instilling a strong sense of women's rights into their sons: four-year-old Noah, three-year-old Bodhi and nine-month-old Journey, as well as his 15-year-old son Kassius with ex Vanessa Marcil.

He said that with 'four boys at home,' he feels 'like it’s [his] job to help them understand that we are all equal.'

He said that under President Donald Trump's administration, it's imperative to show young people 'that anyone can accomplish anything' and that 'it doesn’t matter what sex you are.'
